Seiko Men's SKX781 "Orange Monster"

Seiko Men's SKX781 "Orange Monster" Automatic Dive Watch.

I had been looking forward to receiving this watch.  Ordered on Amazon, September 22, 2012, $209 plus shipping and tax.  When I received it, opened the box and was disappointed, too much "bling", big heavy hunk of stainless steel, not very elegant.  The Orient Mako has become my benchmark, if the watch isn't as least as nicely made I return the watch.  RETURNED

Diving Watches

Seiko 7002-7020
It was an Wikipedia entry and the above photo that got me started on watch journey, Diving Watch:

"A diving watch is a watch designed for underwater diving that features, as a minimum, a water resistance greater than 1.0 MPa (10 atm), the equivalent of 100 m (330 ft). The typical diver's watch will have a water resistance of around 200 to 300 m (660 to 980 ft), though modern technology allows the creation of diving watches that can go much deeper. A true contemporary diver's watch is in accordance with the ISO 6425 standard, which defines test standards and features for watches suitable for diving with underwater breathing apparatus in depths of 100 m (330 ft) or more. Watches conforming to ISO 6425 are marked with the word DIVER'S to distinguish ISO 6425 conformant diving watches from watches that might not be suitable for actual scuba diving."

Seiko SNX123 Review

I have been searching for watches for at least a month and last week went ahead and bought the Seiko SNX123. Received the watch August 31, 2012 from Mr. Watch, $81.99, $91.94 shipped.  Very impressed, case very well made and see through case back.  Didn't like the stainless steel bracelet look, changed the band to a Brown Hadley Roma for $19.99. RETURNED

The watch could easily be a $200-$300 watch, perfect for meetings and every day office work.

Total Cost $111.93
